Food Aid Brings Hope to Kurigram: WIDE ANGLE Foundation Extends a Helping Hand
In a bid to provide relief to those who have lost their livelihoods due to the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, WIDE ANGLE Foundation continues its unwavering commitment to humanitarian assistance. On a recent Saturday, the organization distributed packets of food as Ramadan gifts to hundreds of distressed families in Char Rajibpur Upazila of Kurigram, while adhering to social distancing measures. The distribution program aimed to bring solace and support to those facing challenging circumstances during these trying times.
The food aid packages included essential items such as 10 kg of rice, 3 kg of potatoes, 1 kg of red lentils, 1 kg of salt, 1 liter of soybean oil, 1 kg of sugar, vermicelli, and soap. Understanding the diverse needs of the community, WIDE ANGLE Foundation also distributed new clothes among orphans and other vulnerable children, ensuring that they too experience the joy and warmth of the upcoming Eid festivities.
This non-profit organization has been tirelessly working to provide food items and cooked meals in various areas of Narsingdi and Narayanganj since the onset of the pandemic. Acknowledging the widespread impact of the virus, Humayun Kabir, the Executive Director of WIDE ANGLE Foundation, emphasized that everyone has suffered in these challenging times. While the government and various organizations have made efforts to assist those affected, the assistance often falls short in reaching the remote riverine chars where vulnerable communities reside. It is in response to this gap in aid delivery that WIDE ANGLE Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that food relief reaches these far-flung areas, extending a helping hand to those who need it the most.
The distribution program stands as a testament to the organization’s unwavering commitment to alleviating the suffering of individuals and families in distress. By providing essential food items and new clothes, WIDE ANGLE Foundation aims to bring hope, comfort, and a sense of belonging to those grappling with the economic fallout of the pandemic.
As the Foundation’s volunteers work tirelessly to deliver aid, they carry the spirit of compassion, unity, and resilience. Through their selfless efforts, they remind us that in times of crisis, it is our collective responsibility to support and uplift one another.
Let us join hands with WIDE ANGLE Foundation in their noble cause. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of those affected by the pandemic, offering them a glimmer of hope and the reassurance that they are not alone.
