Bringing Joy and Hope: WIDE ANGLE Foundation’s Ramadan Gift Distribution
In the remote Char Rajibpur Upazila of Kurigram, where the struggles of the underprivileged are woven into their daily lives, WIDE ANGLE Foundation embarked on a heartfelt mission to spread joy and alleviate hardship during the holy month of Ramadan. Through their dedicated efforts, the foundation provided essential Ramadan Iftar items and Eid gifts to hundreds of individuals, including the elderly, widows, disabled, day laborers, and domestic workers.
Among the recipients was Ekabbar Munshi, an 80-year-old resident of Bilpara village, who lost his eyesight long ago. Life had become a daily challenge for Ekabbar, but when the WIDE ANGLE team arrived at his doorstep, bearing gifts of rice, dal, potatoes, semai, and other much-needed provisions, tears of joy welled up in his eyes. With heartfelt gratitude, Ekabbar expressed his wishes for blessings upon the generous souls who had brought light into his life. His words echoed, “May Allah protect them and keep them safe.”
Hajera Begum, a 70-year-old woman from West Char, also found solace in the WIDE ANGLE relief provided during these difficult times. The lockdown had brought unemployment to her family, leaving them in dire straits. However, the foundation’s timely support filled her heart with happiness and restored hope. Hajera’s words resonated with gratitude and prayers, as she said, “May they continue to extend their helping hand to those in need for years to come. May Allah bless them.”
WIDE ANGLE Foundation’s founder and Executive Director, Humayun Kabir, understood the year-round struggles faced by the people of Char. His dedication led the team to venture door-to-door, ensuring that no one was left behind. With deep empathy, he emphasized the significance of sharing the joy of Eid with those who had been fasting without proper meals. Through this small gesture, the foundation aimed to bring a sense of peace and celebration to the lives of those in need.
As this noble distribution program concluded, Humayun Kabir called upon the compassion and kindness of the wealthy and privileged members of society. Their support and involvement could make a substantial difference in the lives of the poor and distressed. Together, we can bridge the gaps and empower communities, paving the way for a more equitable and inclusive society.
WIDE ANGLE Foundation’s unwavering commitment to serving humanity stands as a shining example. Their efforts remind us all of the profound impact we can create when we come together to uplift those in need. Let us join hands and continue spreading love, compassion, and joy to all corners of our society.
May this blessed month of Ramadan inspire us to be a source of hope and blessings for others. May our collective efforts bring solace to the hearts of the less fortunate, and may our actions reflect the true spirit of compassion and unity.
